Snow Valley, located in Southern California just minutes from Riverside and San Bernardino, is a ski resort with 13 lifts, 28 trails, and 240 acres of terrtain. Snow Valley’s terrain includes two black diamonds, and beginner runs, but also features the hardest runs at the top near Slide Peak. The groomers are well maintained, and the backcountry has a wide area within ski area borders. Snow Valley’s terrain park, Edge, runs down the left side. Ski and ride lessons are available. Dining, night skiing, and night life venues are also avaialable. Great for the whole family, snow play areas are large and the family atmosphere is a treat.
China Peak Mountain Resort, celebrating its 55th year this season, is one of California’s top mid sized mountains, located 65 miles northeast of Fresno, just off the shore of beautiful Huntington Lake. With a base elevation of 7,000 and peak of 8,700, and 1,400 acres of diverse terrain, China Peak stacks up well against all but a few of California’s largest resorts, and offer full resort services including a 50 room cozy Inn, restaurants, bars, ski & board school, ski & board rentals, retail shops and more. China Peak has a sizeable snowmaking system covering slopes of all types from top to bottom.
Mammoth Mountain features over 3,100 vertical feet, 3,500 ski-able acres, 150 trails, 300 days of sunshine per year, and a top elevation of 11,053 ft. A total of 28 lifts, including 9 high spped quads, 2 high speed six-packs and 3 high speed gondolas give visitors the freedom to explore at their own pace. With over 400" of annual snowfall, thousands of acres of terrain, and elevation geared for higher snow intake, Mammoth claims the longest snow season against all competitors – nearly 6 months. Families can enjoy more than 300 days of sunshine, and several designated snow play areas. Mammoth’s season typically runs from November until June - at minimum. But the one thing everyone comes for is to play big. And there's no better venue on earth than Mammoth Mountain.
Homewood Mountain Resort owns over 1,260 acres of the best skiing and snowboarding terrain in the Lake Tahoe region. With a base elevation of 6,230 ft and a summit elevation of 7,880 ft (a 1,650 vertical feet elevation gain) Homewood’s 8 Lifts and 64 runs create surreal views and excellent adventures. From groomed boulevards to hidden powder stashes, Homewood has it all. Ellis Peak shelters the entire mountain from the high-ridge winds, making the term "wind hold" almost unheard of at Homewood. The resort features 15% beginner terrain, 50% intermediate terrain, 35% advanced terrain, 2 terrain parks and a run 2 miles long called "Rainbow Ridge." Homewood receives an average snowfall of around 450 inches per season, and a whopping 300 days of sunshine per year, leading SKI Magazine to rank Homewood amongst the Top 10 resorts in California and Nevada in 2012.
Mt Baldy is one of the most storied and beloved resorts in Southern California. With over 50 years of service under its belt, visitors can take take in the sights and relax at their own pace. Located a few miles north of the 210 freeway in the City of Upland, Mt Baldy features 2,100 vertical feet of terrain and 400 ski-able acres. This year Mt Baldy has added a ski and snowboard park, adding many more jumps, rails, boxes and wild features to get your mojo pumping. Mt Baldy also recently completed a 7 million gallon snow making reservoir. This means bigger and better snow coverage throughout the season.
